News:
Ret. Col. Ace Realie, Hangar One's immediate past President
and Chairman of Hangar One's Executive Advisory Board, is awarded
a Glenview Civic Award. In 2004, Realie was awarded a
Special Committee Award by the Glenview Civic Award Committee
for his successful efforts to preserve the control tower,
facades, and certain structural elements of Hangar One,
and the creation of Navy Park in the Glen Town Center.
"His ability to lead and sell his group and others
on the commemorative elements have created a permanent
legacy of the history of the Glenview Naval Air Base for
future generations" wrote Dene Oliver of OliverMcMillan
in his nomination letter.
